The mechanical clamping of the tool-carrier is double checked by an innovative concentricity check function: this provides run-out error warning. If the tool-holder is clamped in the spindle of the machine without proper contact of the cylindrical taper, the software is capable of detecting such problems and signalling the coupling condition in the LCD screen. The icons that are displayed one after the other guide the operator in an intuitive, simple and effective way. The software controls the speed for the movement of the two axes to prevent accidents and make the search for the measuring point easier. The lock button will activate only when the movement speed is slower than 2 m/min. The movement of the two axes can be selected individually or jointly. Offset selection errors cannot be made: the software manages the acquisition of zero points.

The powerful software allows managing the presetter’s effectiveness in a rapid and intuitive way, as well as the functions dealing with the measurement and the geometrical recognition of the camera, of CNC machine origins and of the lists of tools to be measured, which are neccessary to generate the file of tool measurements in the required format (post-processor). Thanks to a simple graphic interface, the opaerator does not get mixed up, thus achieving quick learning.
The Linux operating system assures data safety and the connection to the LAN network; integration and versatility characterise the SQL database, the XML print report generator and the post-processor one, which can be freely configured by the user.
